One of Tonya's favorite snacks is Mamaw Duke's sausage balls which she has been making since at least the 1960's. The recipe makes quite a lot of balls and that would give Mamaw enough to put in plastic butter bowls for the grand kids to take home when she made a batch around the holiday season. Even at age 87 and with advanced osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis, she managed to make some for the holiday season this past year.
1 lb. hot bulk sausage
3 1/2 c. biscuit mix
1 (10 oz.) pkg. grated cheese
Combine all ingredients and shape into small balls about the diameter of a quarter. Bake on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
