1 9 inch unbaked pie shell
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 t. almond flavoring
1 t. salt
1 t. ground nutmeg
Line pie plate with pastry. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Beat eggs in large bowl. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into crust. Cover edges with foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely. Store in refrigerator.
I got this old fashioned recipe from Mr. Olin Brown at Walker Hill Baptist Church. Looks plain but is delicious and a bit different from the custardy type modern quickie pies.
